Thinking about Easter

I have my fingers in so many pies at the minute, I just don't know what to do first. To some up my crafty life, my on going projects are:

A sleepy sheep which I crocheted his head, made a pom pom body, and I ran out of the right yarn to do his legs, however I have been shopping this morning, so I will now be able to finish him.

I have made a few granny squares, which is on going, I was crocheting them in the car while waiting for my children to come out of school, however I have put this down and started to crochet a bobbly cushion. Naughty me.

I made one crochet cupcake which I showed you last time, but I am in no hurry to make those.

I have had oil cloth makes that I really need to finishing but crochet has been distracting me.

A friend wants a sewing machine cover but I need to go fabric shopping first.  A friend wants cushions, but again I need to shop for fabric.

And other things I want to sew, and crochet, well the list is endless, and baking has been put on back shelf at the minute. Aswell as all these other things,  I have be practicing knitting, as I am trying to improve my skills.  I have got a new  book coming next week, which is a knitting and crocheting book of flowers and I want to be able to do both, not just the crochet.

Dispite all these crafty makes, I have been starting to get my home ready for easter, the spring colours are coming out, here is what I have started so far this morning.

My fireplace

The little chick I bought off a lady at knit and natter.

I was going to crochet a flower pot cover for my Mother's Day flowers however, I couldn't resist this chicken plant pot.

New yarn baskets.  You can never have enough.

A lovely gift from my friend :)

Happy Crafting people, and I will have some more things to share with you soon.  Now I am going to have a look though a sewing magazine that landed though my door this morning while I was out.  I will give you some instruction on how to crochet my cushion when I am complete.

Sewing, Crocheting and Cakes.

For those of you who have followed my facebook page: www.facebook/clairesewingcreations,  you may remember that my first make of 2014 was six felt cupcakes.   I have since popped them on a cake stand that holds twelve, so I have been meaning to make six more.  Well, I have decided to crochet the remaining six and I have just completed one.  I am rather pleased with it.  I will add a photo of my felt and crochet cakes below.

These are my felt cupcakes, my first make of 2014.  You may be able to spot the Christmas mini quilt
I made Christmas 2013 underneath it.

And here is my crochet cupcake I made this Sunday afternoon, while my husband was doing some work on our kitchen, and our sons chill out on their computers.

The start of the first week in April, its been a little chilly not at all like spring.

I seem to be mainly crocheting more than anything else lately.  I crocheted some bunting yesterday evening, this is for my youngest of three sons.  I am just planning on adding his name and a motif either end which I plan to do later.

I am sad to have missed my weekly knit and natter at my local library today, but I hope to get there next week.

My blog might be a little basic to start with, I have got a lot to learn on how it works.  I am off to try to add a photo.

Well here we go.

This the bunting I was talking about.  I just have to add my son's name and a couple of things.

Below are some other recent crocheting made this week with cotton, a corsage and granny squares.  The granny squares look a nicer colour than they have come out on the photo.

And this little lady, is sewing girl I made and sold last year, but the lady who I sold her to decided to sell her, along with other sewing items because she is moving country.  However my friend bought her as a surprise for me and she will be back in my home soon, or she will be coming with me to the studio.

As my blog is so new, I don't have many things for you to look at on here yet, but if you would like to see more of my work now please like my page on Facebook:

New beginnings

Hello,  this is my first post as a blogger.  My Name is Claire,  I am a lover of crafts and all things homemade.  I have had a page on Facebook for fourteen months almost, and I have used that like a blog, I started it to share photos of the things I make because I was worried that I was boring people on my personal Facebook profile, with things that they not be interested in and people that were interested wouldn't be able to see them unless we were Facebook friends, so Claire's Sewing Creations, Sewing, Crafts, and more began.

I did swing back and forth with my page in thinking is anyone interest, and I couldn't decide if to make it a business page, so people could order my makes,  I was terrified of being bombarded with orders that I couldn't keep up with, as I have a husband, three young sons, one of which has additional needs, one Chihuahua, four cats, and two cockatiels.  So up to now, I have shared photos of my makes, and chatted about anything crafty,  but a massive change is in process,  my husband and I have got keys for a local business premises yesterday, we have an empty three rooms, one we want to use for storage, this will be mainly for my husbands work bits and bobs, another for a wood workshop (hubby is a carpenter), and the third and final room will be a joint room, my husband wants  an office, and seating area for visitors, and the rest of the room with be a sewing studio.  I was planing to keep my crochet, paper crafts, and other crafts at home.  I have panicked about this also, I hated the thought of taking my sewing out of my home, not being able to sew in school holidays, but the space created at home will be welcome,  I suppose if I was desperate I could take them there for a while with their iPads.   Before I move over, I want some more free standing shelving, and I want the internet set up, the internet has been ordered, but I don't know how long it will take, so I am thinking now to move in after the Easter school holiday.

I want to continue making things for my home and children, gifts for friends and family, and a few things a few friends have asked me to make.  I may possibly make items of my choice to sell maybe on an etsy shop or something similar but have not decided yet totally, but what I would really like to do is start photograph and text tutorials,  I have been unsure until now, because I am not sure if you do tutorials, if all the designs have to be your own patterns, most things I make are and some are not, or I use a pattern as a base an change it to suit me.  I need to look into this more, as I don't want to end up with a law suit on my hands for copyright.

So watch this space...

Thank you for following my blog,

Claire x
